Lionel Messi is the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2012 winner. He was elected by the coaches and captains of the national teams of the 209 FIFA Member Associations and a selected group of media. Messi was been elected in front of runner-up Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta, who came third.
