Latest details of CONCACAF play-offs

The latest information regarding the play-off matches in the North, Central America and Caribbean Zone – which will reduce the number of teams included in the Preliminary Draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ - has been released.

The following dates and fixtures have been agreed:

15 June 2011 - Montserrat - Belize
TBD - Belize - Montserrat*
(*2nd leg postponed due to Belize suspension of 17 June 2011)

8 July 2011 - Anguilla - Dominican Republic
10 July 2011 - Dominican Republic - Anguilla

3 July 2011 - US Virgin Islands - British Virgin Islands
10 July 2011 - British Virgin Islands - US Virgin Islands

8 July 2011 - Aruba - St. Lucia
12 July 2011 - St. Lucia - Aruba

2 July 2011 - Turks and Caicos Islands - Bahamas
11 July 2011 - Bahamas - Turks and Caicos Islands*
(*The two teams agreed to switch the order of the matches)

Further details, including venues and kick-off times, will be announced in the near future. The winners of these fixtures will join the other teams from the region in the Preliminary Draw, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro on 30 July 2011.

Europe should be doing this too. Andorra, San Marino, Lichtenstein, etc, play in the first round. That should shotren final stage by a bunch.
